The topics and themes of the exchange activities that have been proposed for the next year (April 1, 2002?March 31, 2003) are consistent with the traditional emphasis of JIFT on fundamental theoretical plasma physics issues. At the same time the proposed activities have direct relevance to the fusion science programmatic interests of both countries.
