A meeting of the Japan Coordinating Committee on Fusion Energy was held in Tokyo in June 2000. This meeting featured a number of presentations concerning the past two decades of US/Japan collaboration in fusion energy research. One of the presentations described JIFT exchange activities [1]. Following the meeting, a special reception was held to celebrate this 20-year anniversary (photographs [2]). A written report [3] and a booklet [4] were subsequently published.
